2020 is almost here, and with it comes some interesting design trends. Read on for five of our favorite 2020 kitchen design trends to incorporate into your kitchen remodel.
1. The Return of Marble
Luxurious, stylish, and bold, if there is one trend that is going to be everywhere in 2020, it’s marble. Not just for countertops, marble is extending up the wall and replacing the tiled backsplashes, and is even being used in shelving. You might say marble is back and better than ever…especially when paired with wood cabinets. And speaking of wood…
2. Wood is the New White
While white or colored cabinets have been all the rage, wood is making a re-appearance in 2020. Next year’s woods are more subtle and natural feeling––think bamboo, pale oaks or walnuts or even a subtle-granied ash. Plus, wood pairs well with natural countertop finishes such as stone, concrete, and marble.
3. Dark and Dramatic
You might say black is having somewhat of a moment in 2020. No longer just an accent color, black walls, cabinetry and work surfaces are now livable and inviting––all while being luxurious at the same time.
Add some rustic wood accents and green plants to bring warmth to the room.
4. Seeing Double
With the move towards larger kitchens and open plan spaces, the kitchen island has become an essential feature in the modern kitchen. Why not really embrace the trend with not just one, but a pair of island units?
5. Form & Function
Tech is definitely on the forecast for 2020 kitchen design trends. Touch to open kitchen cabinets are one of the biggest trends this year, creating a pared-back, streamlined look––leaving the focus on the details of the cabinets themselves. Designers are achieving this through either recessed handle solutions or push open/close cabinet doors.
